Josh Koscheck is a professional Mixed Martial Artist from the United States of America who is currently contracted to perform with the Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC, the biggest promotion for Mixed Martial Arts in the world where he fights in the 175 lbs Welterweight division. Koscheck made his debut for the promotion back in 2005 when he was part of the lineup of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter where he fought as a Middleweight and holds the record of fighting the most consecutive number of fights in the UFC since 2005.
Kos has an extremely strong amateur wrestling background and was a contender for the NCAA Division I on a regular basis, finishing as an All American on four occasions, including winning the title once. Koscheck made his debut in the UFC when he was selected to appear in the first season of their reality television show The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV where he fought against Chris Leben to reach the semi finals of the Middleweight competition.
Josh Koscheck, however, suffered a defeat to Diego Sanchez via split decision in the semi finals, but so impressive was his performance on the show, the UFC decided to give him a professional contract to keep him with the promotion. Koscheck has a strong background in kick boxing and trained at the American Kick Boxing Academy for a long time before he fell out with the coaches and quit the gym.
Josh Koscheck has always been there in the title picture for the UFC Welterweight Championship and is a former number one contender for the title as well. Moreover, Kos is also one of the highest paid fighters in the promotion in spite of never actually winning a championship in the promotion throughout his stint in the promotion.
Wade Barrett is a professional wrestler who hails from England and is currently signed on as a performer for the World Wrestling Entertainment or the WWE. He is a former bare knuckle boxer and is the current WWE Intercontinental champion and this is second reign as the title holder. Barrett, who was born as Stuart Alexander Bennett first gained worldwide recognition as he became the winner of the first season of WWE NXT, the WWE’s talent search show and was given a professional contract by the promotion.
He made his debut in the RAW brand of the promotion and gained prominence as the leader of the Nexus, a group of wrestlers hell bent on creating destruction. He quickly became a star among equals in the Nexus and in that year alone, he headlined five pay per view events of the WWE and Wade Barrett challenged for the WWE Championship in three of those events.
Barrett was born in Lancashire but his family moved to Wales when he was six years old. It was here that his dreams of becoming a professional wrestler were sowed and he grew up idolizing the likes of Davey Boy Smith as well as Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart. He studied marine biology in Liverpool and during his stay at the North West, he became involved in bare knuckle boxing and he became a champion, fighting all over Europe.
Wade Barrett is considered as the flag bearer for English professional wrestling, the first true English fighter that the promotion had signed since the retirement of another Englishman William Regal. But although he has been given plenty of push in his short career, he has never managed to scale the lofty heights and become either the WWE champion or the World Heavyweight champion in the promotion so far.
After Wade Barrett won the inaugural season of NXT in 2010 and joined the Nexus, the wrestling fans were confident that he was the one to stand among the ones like the Rock, John Cena, and Brock Lesnar. Feuds with John Cena and Randy Orton where he was close to winning the WWE Championship made it more convincing. But that was the beginning and that was the end. Since then, Wade has not done anything bright or worth mentioning in WWE for all these years and that has actually put his future in WWE into a big question.
Unfortunate enough for the kind of start that he gave, Wade Barrett has still not won any world title as was expected of him. He suffered injuries and looked bad in his performances and so his popularity has gone way down the line. Wade is on a low profile chasing Intercontinental Championships when he should be feuding with John Cena and the like and this is jeopardizing his career. But previously when he first came into the wrestling scene with Wrestlemania he was ready to fight at every breath and make it big for him.
All that Wade Barrett is now been doing is beating not-so well known wrestlers. But over the past few months Randy Orton was also on his list of feuds but that has been less often. The previous month at the Royal Rumble, Wade was banished by the underrated Bo Dallas. The following night too Dallas beat Wade again in just two to three minutes. The main problem lies with the fixtures made by Raw for him. Because there has been no decline in his talent despite so much of underutilization shown by the Raw and WWE he seems to have gotten himself into tough times. But they do not last long as everybody knows.
